The birth of the eternal—in me

“We are celebrating the feast of the Eternal Birth which God the Father has borne and never ceases to bear in all Eternity. . . But if it takes not place in me, what avails it? Everything lies in this, that it should take place in me.” -Meister Eckhart from Easwaran: The Lord of Love, immortal and infinite, comes as a divine incarnation in times of great crisis to rescue mankind from disaster. In age after age, whenever violence and hatred threaten the world, the Lord comes down to inspire and protect those who turn to him, who live in harmony with the law of unity. “Living as a tree, not a leaf”

The wine of life is oozing drop by drop, The leaves of life are falling one by one.   – Omar Khayyam Easwaran muses: Like leaves, we come into this life, are here for a few days, and then are gone. Tat is the supreme reality from which words turn back frightened, which thoughts cannot reach. “The second word is tvam , ‘you.’ It is addressed to everyone without exception. “And the third word, asi , means ‘ you are .’ Whether you believe it or not, it does not matter. Whether you accept it or not, it does not matter. That is what you are.” ~ Eknath Easwaran This truth as expressed in Sanskrit, which is much more specific ...
