Ask for the Holy Spirit-for that is all we need

“You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” ---Jesus The Christ
The greatest teacher of wisdom in history is Jesus, who became the Christ. In this passage, at the culmination of the teaching regarding the prayer we call the Lord's Prayer, he makes an irrevocable promise that brings hope and daily strength to those who take His promise "to heart" and claim it in prayer.

He is saying that if but ask the Father for His Holy Spirit, He will give it to us, much like when your children ask you for what can sustain them...albeit--we are sinful--we will still do what we can to help our own children. That is the way the Father views us, as His own children. So, because what we truly and undeniably need in this life is His Spirit dwelling. And that this hosting of the Spirit within our hearts brings the reign of the Kingdom of Heaven within us...(Luke 17:20-21)--naturally He will do all He can, which is immeasurable--to fulfill His promise to us. His Spirit will enter in, especially when we ask for Him in the name of Jesus himself.

In my life, this passage is the Promise from Jesus' lips which speaks to me most directly and causes me to have unusual courage, and strength, because of His indwelling, to walk *in yoke* with Christ, the ascended master, the pre-eminent wisdom teacher, through whatever life brings to my conscious experience.
That is why--"I can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me".
Yippee.

Baylor has need of Christ’s wisdom

You can not serve both God and Mammon.” We ( Baylor - as a university community which says its follows Christ) have blindly served mammon, with the other schools in Texas…and look where it has taken us. Now money is driving the conference groupings even more than before- in 1995. Where will this lead? Texas—that is the University of Texas at Austin, is the driving force of the ‘we deserve more money’ movement. Fair enough, that is as it probably should be. UT is a dominant force in NCAA athletics. It is a secular school. It has absolutely no ties to the Gospel, other than the Gospel’s influence on our culture. Handling God's blessings with care
