Today is December 25, 2008--Christmas Day 

We are celebrating the feast of the Eternal Birth which God
the Father has borne and never ceases to bear in all
Eternity. . . . But if it takes not place in me, what
avails it? Everything lies in this, that it should take

from Eswaran: The Lord of Love, immortal and infinite, comes as a divine
incarnation in times of great crisis to rescue mankind from
disaster. In age after age, whenever violence and hatred
threaten the world, the Lord comes down to inspire and
protect those who turn to him, who live in harmony with the
law of unity. He comes to protect such people from the heavy
odds ranged against them, and to re-establish peace on earth
and good will among all.

Yet there is another level on which this divine birth can
take place. Every one of us has this choice: shall I prepare
for the divine birth to take place in my consciousness by
abolishing my own selfishness? It is up to you and me to
keep our doors open, to put up a little sign, "Ready
for receiving an incarnation." But our house must not
be cluttered up. It must be empty of selfishness and
self-will. Only then can the blessed child be born in our
humble hearts.

May my own heart be a suitable place for the Christ be born anew
and to reside.
He can grow within us, if our hearts are prepared for His birth
and growth.
Will we provide a warm place for Him to live?

Will His will be our real will in the life we are
living today?

May it be so. Amen.

Baylor has need of Christ’s wisdom

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can not serve both God and Mammon.” We ( Baylor - as a university community which says its follows Christ) have blindly served mammon, with the other schools in Texas…and look where it has taken us. Now money is driving the conference groupings even more than before- in 1995. Where will this lead? Texas—that is the University of Texas at Austin, is the driving force of the ‘we deserve more money’ movement. Fair enough, that is as it probably should be. UT is a dominant force in NCAA athletics. It is a secular school. It has absolutely no ties to the Gospel, other than the Gospel’s influence on our culture. Although far less in influence, the same goes for our militaristic land grant school, and our state’s other outpost, which defies description. But Baylor—why do we follow them? Handling God's blessings with care

This applies to food and friends and kindred, to anything God gives and takes away. -Meister Eckhart In order to live in freedom, we must learn to accept a temporary disappointment, if necessary, when it is for our permanent well-being. Sometimes, when we want to eat something that appeals to us, or when we want to eat a little more than is necessary, we can't help feeling disappointment as we push away from the table. We cannot help thinking that we could as well have stayed on for five more minutes of pleasure, forgetting that it would probably be followed by five hours of stomachache at night. The right time to get up from the meal is when we want just a little more.
