The greatest saint in the world

“Who is the greatest saint in the world?

It is not he who prays most or fasts most; it is not he who gives most, or is most eminent for temperance, chastity, or justice; but it is he who is always thankful to God, who wills everything that God wills, who receives everything as an instance of God’s goodness, and has a heart always ready to praise God for it.”

~ William Law

I resonate with this statement that I read yesterday in “Pursuit of God” by A.W. Tozer, in that as I walk daily in the journey that is this life, I find that when I am most resilient, most awakened and centered in my walk with Christ, most balanced and joyful…is when I have maintained a posture of gratitude towards the Provider, a spirit of thanksgiving is one that produces spiritual fruit.

“Freely have I received, so freely I give.”

My day to day provision comes from the Eternal Creator, who is continually creating provision and laying out the manna I need to be sustained, each day.

I reflect on my business life, the life I experience in family, in my local church—the Body of Christ--  in the larger community, and I see His hand in all of these areas.

Christ is my all in all. He lives in my heart—and pervades my thoughts when I praise him for his grace and provision.

Indeed, as I live in gratitude--all of life is sacred. There is no dichotomy between the sacred and the secular.

Thanksgiving is an evidence of the Holy Spirit, and reminds me of His love and care—each moment of the day.

Christ be praised.
